LESSONS FROM JOSHUA
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."
Joshua is given instructions on how to be blessed, prosperous, secure, and free. The first step was to keep the word by meditating on it night and day, observing the laws (mandates), and obeying the principles (which become keys that unlock spiritual doors, and bring about bountiful blessings). The second step was a command to be strong and very courageous... in whatever God was requiring of him and leading him to do. Why?
“Train up a child in the way they should go and in the end they will not depart from it” (Prov 22:6)
The ALCBC Children’s Ministry focuses on ministering to your children. Our program is divided into three parts: Children’s Church, Children’s Activities, and Child Care.
Children’s Church – Every Sunday (except for 1st Sundays) we provide children’s church for children ages 2-13. Children learn about God through interaction, arts & crafts, videos, and Bible stories for their age group. Our teachers have a gift and a love for children and desire all children to come to know Jesus in a greater way. Children’s Church is a fun, safe, and spiritually charged environment that will encourage kids to love God more.
Children’s Activities – ALCBC Children’s Ministry makes it a point to set up activities for the children. Whether it’s roller skating, going to camp, watching a movie, or having a game night, activities for your children are planned throughout the year. Our prayer is that children sense the peaceful presence of God as they have fun and play games.
Child Care – ALCBC Children’s Ministry also provides child care for church events and some small groups. Whenever there is child care at our church you can rest assure that your children will be cared for physically as well as spiritually.
MEMBERSHIP HAS ITS PRIVILEGES…
We join gyms, we join community groups, we join social clubs and we learn in all these memberships that membership has its privileges. Membership at church has its privileges. We believe that God has ordained you to be in a community of believers that regularly meets together for the purposes of encouragement, education and enrichment. We believe that everyone should have a community to which they call their spiritual family and we seek to be that for you. Members of the first church in Acts were said to have devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread together, they praised God and enjoyed the favor of all the people (Acts. 2:42 & 47a). Abundant Life is a family of warmth and love. We seek to follow this biblical example as we worship and learn more about God, fellowship with each other and reach out to the community. So if you are looking for a church family of warmth and love that will encourage, educate and enrich your life spiritually…come and join us.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?
Our New Membership process is easy – Take the DM1 (Discover Membership) class and you’re a member. It is usually held on three Sundays from 12:00 – 2:00 throughout the year. This class is designed to help you know a little more about us, our vision, and mission as we seek to impact the Pasadena and Greater Los Angeles community for Christ. Check the calendar for an upcoming class.
Evangelism Ministry seeks to share the good news of the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our goal is to bring people One Step closer to Christ. Every other month this ministry leads our congregation in going out into the community to share our faith.
Life Community Enrichment Corporation is our non-profit organization that is an outreach extension of our church.
